Dairy

What is Dairy?
Dairy is one of the "smaller" basic food groups. Dairy is defined as any food that is based from mammalian milk. Some examples of foods include different cheeses, such as parmesan or provolone. Other dairy-based foods are milk and yogurt.
Recommendations for Dairy Intake
Dairy has a smaller section in the mock makeup of one's nutrition because of its makeup. Dairy is often moderately high in proteins, but also fats. In many cases, dairy, since it is originated from animals, can be detrimental to health because of its fats and potential hazardous substances from other animals. I would advise to limit dairy intake to a minimum. Have about three cups of dairy-based food. In actuality, you don't need to eat dairy at all as long as you get your macronutrients from the other food groups. Personally, I eat one cup of yogurt and drink only enough milk to mix with my protein shake.
